2009-03-26 CAS Say it with Scallops

2009/03/26

I have some odd size envelopes and thought I’m make a card to fit the envelope instead of the other way around. The envelope I have measures 4 inches by 5.5 inches. I still had my Cuttlebug mini embossing folders for corners on my desk. It would be nice if I had more ideas on using them so I played around with them this morning.

I embossed the corners first. I added some flower shapped stickers from $1 store to the flower middles. I also added scor-pal lines to outline. It still looked plain so I added a scallop boarder with a tiny piece of DSP to the bottom of the card.

I used one stamp on this from the Say it with Scallops Stampin Up set. I do not think I have ever even got this stamp inky before. I took a piece of the DSP and stamped on it using versa mark; then embossed with white embossing powder. I was hopeing that the tan color would show through for the words. I used the Stampin’ Up square scallop punch and then matted the piece using 3-d mounting tape. I was thinking that the embossing could use a little pale color and might try chalking them; I’m just not sure yet.

Another beautiful card! I cased the one you had the other day with those corner folders. Mine isn’t as elegant as yours but at least I have now found a way to use them. Thanks for your great cards!

I think it looks elegant, I would not add anything more to it!!!! Sometimes less is best.

Love this card! I don’t think you need to change a thing. I don’t believe I’ve ever heard of cuttlebug corner embossing folders. I might have to google that (as I have a cuttlebug and embossing folders, but not corner ones).
This card is very elegant, and I love it. TFS!
