2019-12-09; Never ending alpha swap; “S”

S this month is for

sea horse

sea shells

“Seas the day” sentiment

Before beginning assembly of the card I tried heat embossing the sea horse 3 times before I got it right. From left to right respectively, try 1 (started with black glossy card stock and heat embossed in silver), 2 dyed plain card stock heat embossed in silver)  and 3  (stamped in black onto white card stock and then clear embossed).  Try # 3 was the obvious choice.

And here is the card that I ended up constructing

The glossy black background that I colored with Marvey metallic markers (sprayed with water for the blending) ended up being my background paper.

A close up view of part of the sea horse.  He was colored with pastels.  The background was a watercolor wash and then some dark gray was added around the sea horse for a shadow.

A look at the background and the texture.  From left to right; dry wall tape; micro beads, embossed sea shells; the black glossy card stock colored with markers and some iridescent sequins.

And one last look at the card before you go on about your day….

Thanks for stopping by.

VERY pretty, Bonnie! How’s the snow your way? Ours is almost gone, but a replacement (sadly) is on the way. Happy Holidays!
