2018-08-07; collage to the rescue

2018/08/07

This image was an inheritance gift from Sonia’s estate.  I always like to say that as there are ladies from my old group who read my blog and will know who Sonia was.

I started out using water damaged glossy card stock and this unmarked, unmounted image.  The card stock was already in sad shape so it didn’t matter if this experiment was a success or not.  I was just playing around.  After adding color to the glossy card stock and stamping the image in black, I couldn’t get a good image of the center portion.  Collage to the rescue, just add more to it.

Here is the finished card I ended up with.  I should add that the purple DP in the background was also from Sonia’s estate.

You can see that I added 3-d items where ever the image didn’t print properly.  Unfortunately it was the entire center, but didn’t it turn out nice?

Here is some of the texture that I added; a 3-d holographic butterfly sticker, cheese cloth, punched flowers with black gems, washi tape, gold foil sticker, a popped up sentiment on a hand cut banner and a bakers twine bow.

Here are the various layers.  A total of 6 layers including the base card.  The die cut mats and flourish scroll are all no-brand dies I bought a few months ago.

This experiment again proves that once you are playing around, be sure to finish your design.  It may really surprise you like this one did for me.  I think it turned out great!

Another beautiful card – Sonia would be very proud! I have gotten many of Sonia’s cards and other creations in the past – she is so missed! We were on at least 2 groups together.
