2018-07-12; hand made background

One of my stamp friends told me that I need to just sit down and play and not consider what I’m really doing. In that vein, I stamped this sheet with an assortment of stamps.

Here is the background.  I started by lightly dragging ink pads  across this half sheet of white card stock, stamped the flowers in black and then began adding texture images in shades of brown.  I added the leafy flourish in plum ink but it looked to dark so I went back and stamped white over the top of them, not lining it up just eyeballing it.  The last thing I did was take one of the texture stamps, stamp in gold pigment and then heat embossed.

The background (in my opinion) was to busy to just make a card with so I cut it into panels and added it to this card.

Here is a look at the various layers.  I count 6 layers (not counting the card base)

I made a homemade stick pin using an inexpensive floral pin, plastic bead, plastic pearl and a crimp bead to hold them in place.  Once I stuck the pin through the layers, I snipped off the pointy end so the recipient wouldn’t get a nasty surprise.

And one last look at the card before you go on about your day…
