2018-05-27; Craft day with Maggi – introduction to color burst

This is the 2nd project that Maggi and I worked on when she came over for a craft afternoon.  Earlier last week I came up with a good design using color burst pigment powder on a background.   I knew this would be a good project to experiment with while Maggi was here.

This is Maggi’s 1st try at color burst pigment powders.  She squirted the bottle rather than shake it out, so she had a very dark color intensity even after we blotted a lot of the color up.  She found a homemade background (torn pieces of DP that was adhered to a piece of card stock) and used it for her bottom mat piece.

Her 2nd try was more successful in pink & yellow.

I had pre-cut the stars in case Maggi wanted to go with the same theme that I had showed her a sample of.  She opted for Anniversary & Birthday.  I decided to just use the original sentiment and use up the stars that I had cut out.  Here is the  blue & yellow sample.
