2017-06-10; die cut frame & file folder remnant

2017/06/10

I started this card a day or two ago and never got back to the craft room until Saturday morning when everyone was still asleep at my house. It’s going to be in the 90’s today so my basement craft room will be a cool haven to retreat to. Granted, I have to bundle up to be here this time of year as the normal temperature down here is 63* So consider that I had to freeze my tootsies to create this/ All the pieces except the base card were from the remnant/scrap pile headed for the trash.

The blueish layer is a piece of green file folder. It’s very heavy duty, like chipboard. I stamped it using a burlap background stamp and then added the sentiment. The frame is die cut from a piece of scrap from the bin.

The flowers are left overs from the April Shoe Box Craft night. Here I’ve glimmered them up using a left over die cut mini flower from a Cricut project. I’ve added glue and covered them in champagne glitter. See the leaves in the background? They were die cut a month or two ago and just laying on the table since then. They went with the flowers perfectly.

In addition to the scraps of DP used from the trash bin I also added 2 doily’s that were cut and pieced so they would barely stick out from under the chip board mat.

VERY pretty, Bonnie! That’s why crafters are savers and recyclers! I am happy to have some warm weather!
