2017-06-07; Serene Silhouettes say hello to Cuttlebug challenge

I picked up the stamp set Serene Silhouettes at a rummage sale some time ago. I don’t recall ever using it so it was fun to try it out. The entire background and focal image is all rubber stamped images.

the frame is a die cut that has been stamped with another Stampin Up background image of text. In the background of the central image is a crackle stamp by Rubber Stampede. Additional color was added rubbing ink pads directly on the card stock.

Under the die cut frame I created a mat that was stamped with the central flower image in silver. This piece was then embossed with a Darice brick embossing folder.

Here is a little more of the 100 yards of pink ribbon being used that I picked up at an over-stock store. The cotton twine is from the hardware store; 420 feet (or 120 yards) for $1.99! Homemade bakers twine here I come.

The sentiment (Close to My Heart) was added to a piece of tissue paper and glued in place with matte medium. I put tiny dots of red paint on the hearts.

And one last look at the card before you go on about your day….

I had some difficulty with trying to get the embossing to show up, so I muddled with the contrast. The actual color of the base card is a deep burgundy.
Thanks for stopping by today.
