2017-05-28; blessings

2017/05/28

Have you ever just had scraps on the desk that were just a little to large to toss and too small for a full card front? That’s everything this card was made from. The base has been in the scrap box for a couple of years. Originally it had been embossed and sponged but turned out looking nasty. I was making this card just from bits and pieces and was going to cover it up anyway, so I put it to use.

See the glowing gold foil? It’s really hard to take photos of gold metallic items. This is the best I could do as you will see in the last photo that the gold from a different angle just looks dark.

The word blessings is from an acrylic set from Close to My Heart. The bow is cream colored seam binding that has been triple tied. When I mail this one, I’ll tuck cotton batting in the loops to keep it from being squashed. I’ve been told that by doing that when the recipient opens it, it looks fresh and poofy, not flattened and squashed.

And here is the “dark” look at the gold foil. Don’t you love the fancy die on this one. All the layers were cut from the same die set making it easy to put together. And they are all correctly sized to fit onto an A-2 size card. A few of my other die sets don’t. They are either too large or just smidge too small for the card front (to fill the whole card front that is).

Thanks for stopping by today and now you know that I’ve used a lot of the scraps that were on my desk…so it’s a wee bit cleaner this morning 🙂
