2017-05-26; hello my friend faux shaker card

2017/05/26

I don’t know about you, but I have not had the best success with shaker cards. My issues have been leaking/seeping of the “shaker” elements and static cling messing up the window so that all you got to see was a mess. The last few tries have been better, but I think I finally found what works for me, the faux shaker card.

I saw a sample of this just a few weeks ago and I know this is the best shaker card I’ve made to date. With the help of a new window style die.

Here you can see the various layers. I only popped up the window. See that copper color layer in the photo? That is actually metallic gold card stock, making this baby gleam in real life.

And a close look through the window; a clean window for sure! No more static cling of lose glitter.

And one last look at this static free window card before you go on about your day….

How can you make a static free shaker card? Glue is the secret. Glue the glitter down where you want it and then assemble the window part. The glitter will stay where you put it and you’ll always be able to see the words or images inside the shaker window.
