2016-03-13; Silhouette rose from My Scrap Chick

2016/03/13

Last evening I was experimenting with my first download from My Scrap Chick. The free download this week is a card base with all the layers and a silhouette rose to go with it.

It was really nice that all the layers were pre-sized for a standard A2 card. I only had some trouble with the detailed cut rose. Once I tried a differed card stock all went smoothly.

Here is a close up of the rose. I first cut it from a pale pink, but it didn’t really show up. I ended up sponging inks on the detailed rose and then layering it on the the two other layers. I added some glitter glue to punch it up just a bit.

I found the sentiment all stamped, mounted and even had 3-d mounting tape on it in the box where I keep my Easter things. I didn’t hesitate, I grabbed it and put it to use. I filled the background with some burlap (it already had the gold circles on it).

And one more look at the card before you go on about your day….

I am glad I signed up for My Scrap Chicks news letter. She sends out the letter once a week and offers a free file. I will look forward to seeing what else will be coming my way.
