2016-01-19; Art Journal Page #7

Today I’m sharing page #7. I have pages 3 and 4 ready to share but I have to wait until I hear that they have been received so I can share.

Back to page 7….I made this page for myself. When I make one to swap I always make 2 (one for me and one to swap) making it super simple to get a photo of the front and back side together.

Here is the first side 1. I used a piece of hand printed paper that my friend Maggi gave me. She couldn’t remember the details of how it was printed. It’s too bad the photo doesn’t show the iridescence of the paper. The colors are very jewel like and so very rich looking. I left the paper take center stage.

I stamped the sentiment on tissue and added over gold thread.

One more look…

Now for side 2. It features torn book pages, dry wall tape, stamping, sewing heat bond tape and textured wall paper.

The border is the heat bond tape. I glued it down then added distress ink to dye it.

The butterfly is die cut from textured wall paper and colored with watercolor crayons.

I added the sentiment by stamping on tissue paper. The sentiment stands out so much more by using the tissue.

And one last look before you go on about your day.

Thanks so stopping by today.

Both are very pretty, but I LOVE the sentiment on the 2nd page. I was fortunate not to experience much of that, but I sure know people who did.
