2016-01-03; Garden Soup cartridge, bee

2016/01/03

I made this card base in Cricut’s Design Studio. I learned how to put two shapes together and weld them so they turn into a shaped card base. It was slow going to teach an old dog new tricks however with the help of youtube, I think anyone can learn this new program. Some folks who do the videos talk fast and go through the instructions super quickly, but there is always the pause button! And let’s not forget replay lol!

Here is the card that I made by welding two octagons together…the little bee is from the Cartridge Garden Soup and cut at 1.5″; the card base is cut at 4.25″. Cutting the card base at this size allowed for two cards from one sheet of 8.5×11″ card stock.

Here is the plain inside…notice? No homemade hinge. It’s just a nice fold in the middle. And see those extra mats for the inside of the card? All sized in Design Space for my homemade card base.

The sentiment is a rubber stamp by The Cottage Stamper. If you noticed the honey comb design in the background, that is a die by Stampin Up.

Here is a look at the bee, cut from the Garden Soup cartridge at 1.5″ I colored it a bit with the glitter gel pen.
