2015-03-05; Pocket card al la recycled file folder

At last months shoebox meeting I was given 2 boxes of file folders. I have been using them as layers on different projects since then but this one is the whole card, a pocket card. I carefully trimmed one of the folders into a 5″x10″ piece. I scored with a craft knife and folded in half not quite breaking through the thick chip board folder. I trimmed 1″ off one of the sides, rounded the top corners, added a piece of DP and taped the edges together using washi tape.

I used a flower and punch by Stampin Up to create the medallion. I added both blue flock and gold glitter to the center.

The friends medallion was cut (both pieces) with a die by Penny Black. The one thing you can’t see in the picture is the thick layer of clear texture that I added to the DP before adding the medallions. Since I couldn’t emboss the chipboard to add texture (thinking back to when I broke Cuttlebug machine #1; so not a good idea); I took a paint brush and Mod Podge brushing on texture in an “x” pattern.
