2014-02-28…Petite Petals and modified gate fold

2014/02/28

On Wednesday I had a fun play date. This is project #2 of our play time. It is a gate fold style card. The right side of the card folds in and tucks under the larger flower and acts as a closure.

The tiny alphabet is by Hero Arts and is called Tiny Dot Letters. I used a tiny square punch by Family Treasures, popping up each letter on a bit of 3-d foam mounting tape.

Here is a close look at these flowers. The larger flower is from the set Flower Shop; the smaller flower from the set Petite Petals; both by Stampin Up. The leaves are a Martha Stewart punch.

Here you can see that I’ve untucked the flap and is now part way open.

A fully opened view shows that I lined the card and added an addition blossom to cover the brad prongs.

A final look before you go on about your day…

The finished card size is 5″ wide by 4 1/4″ tall.

Score a 4 1/4″ x 11″ piece of card stock at 3 1/2″ and again at 8 1/2″; decorate as desired!

Bonnie, that is such a lovely card! And I love the way you used the large flower for the one panel to fold under for a closure.

Bonnie, really nice design, but I’m wondering what the size of the closed card is.
