2013-12-11 Scallop Snowman

Today I’m sharing a mini card. It measures 4 3/8″ tall x 4 3/8″ wide. This is the largest Lacy oval in the Spellbinder die package. I die cut additional standard ovals and then stamped the snowman by Endless Creations.

I added some trimmed burlap to form the hat and scarf. Talk about gluey fingers 😉 I didn’t have to do much else to the snowman except to add a little color for the nose, shading and glitter.

I punched 4 snowflakes (fussy gluing tutorial HERE) and then added glitter.

I decided this guy needed arms. So I took some sewing pins, added “snowballs” and stuck them in. I made sure to tuck the pointy ends of the pins into the card stock but still between the layers. Can’t have anyone getting stuck! Twigs would have been more authentic however; it would not have been sturdy enough for mailing.

Although the ribbon tie looks like it ties the card closed, it does not. It’s just there for show and to add a hint of gold.

and one last look at the full card. This turned out STINKIN’ Cute!

I also decorated the inside by cutting an oval frame and stamping a sentiment. There is not a ton of space for writing a note unless you write pretty small. But who wouldn’t want to get this sweet guy in the mail?
