2013/10/10

The October Shoebox was held at my house this week. Here you can see the supplies I pulled out for the ladies to use to make the project that I designed for them.

What you see pictured:
Distress Stains by Tim Holtz in the colors of Vintage Photo, Aged Mahogany, Spiced Marmalade and Peeled Paint.
Punches: Maple & Oak leaves by Emaginations, Corner rounder by EK Success
Liquid Pearls in Bronze and Pearl
Stamps: Acrylic set by TPC Studios; Autumn Harvest set
Tim Holtz Alterations movers & shapers die, mini branch & leaf set
Flexable ruler
Gelly Roll glitter pens

After using all of the supplies shown, here is the card we put together. Each lady stained her own leaves, so each card looked quite different. Here is how my finished card turned out:

I’ve opened the card so you can see the inside. Take a look on the left, see the curved edge of the card? This was made using the flexible ruler. I found this in the drafting department of a local office supply store. Each lady designed the shape of the wave that they wanted and traced it onto their card base. So again, each card made had a different design. I like this wavy border, it lets you see the inside of the card while the card is still closed. I lined the inside with some orange printed scrapbook paper. It’s light enough so you can write your personalized note right on it.

And now some close ups for you…The verse is by TPC Studios from the acrylic set Autumn Harvest. It’s a very versatile set and has nice fall sentiments with it.

Here you see the individually stained and punched leaves and die cut branches. I added some liquid pearls and gelly roll glitter pen as highlights.

This was only project #1, so stop on back and look for projects 2-4.

Bonnie, I absolutely LOVE this card. It is gorgeous with the multi-colored leaves and leaf shapes, the glittery veins on the leaves, the liquid pearl accents and the swoop of the right edge…LOVE that! And I have one in my hot little hands to drool over…yayyyy!!!
