2013-03-17 Happy St. Patrick’s Day to you with an Irish Blessing

What do you make a St. Patrick’s Day card with when you really don’t have any of those themed images in your collection? Well, over the years I’ve come up with hand drawn shamrocks and hearts punched and formed into a shamrock. A couple of years ago, I die cut a shamrock chain using a Cricut die cut machine.

This year I focused on the verse for the focal image, an Irish Blessing by Hero Arts that I’ve had for at least 10 years. I don’t think it has ever been used on the front of a card before. Here is what I came up with:

To make the clover I fell back on my prior years experience and punched some hearts out of green card stock, ran them through a Fiskars crimping tool and then glued them in place to form the clover.

This is the card that I took for the February Shoebox gathering. I know they thought this was totally a putzy card…just what I normally bring 🙂
